AG has noted, 'alot of the works during this period were geometric in shape, and eventually led to a reaction against the cliche of geometry in an effort to find an alternative way of dealing with the land. Artists that I had come across during my foundation at Bradford included the Americans Robert Smithson and Dennis Oppenheim.' [AG, Penpont, 10/11/2003]
