For this work, AG noted in his diary ' 30th - sycam'. His brief notation refers to the torn sycamore leaf sections and red sycamore stalks that he used in this piece. AG first laid pieces of torn sycamore leaf on the ground in a curving line formation. Over top of the leaf line, and following the same curving configuration, AG placed a line of red sycamore stalks. The stalks are joined by inserting the end of one into another.
